It's Swatchtastic! First Impressions: Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer! ♥♥

Hey there!

A while back I bought my first two nail polishes from Maybelline's Color Show line. I got them at a fantastic price of $2.97! For the price I wasn't expecting very much, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got around to trying them out! Here they are...

I got two different finishes to see how they would each apply, so I could get a better feel for the line.

NOTD;; Tokidoki Inspired! ♥♥

Hey guys!

Today I'm coming at you with a look inspired by the brand Tokidoki - If you haven't heard of this brand, you've probably seen it (:

These are only some of the characters you'll see in the world of Tokidoki, crowding the face of all of their merchandise. It's basically an overflow of adorable japanese inspired characters. They've got all kinds of merchandise, I've got an agenda and a keychain from this brand. They've also recently started a like of cosmetics, available at Sephora.

But let's get on to the manicure, shall we? Check it out!

This is the end result of my inspiration! Definitely a little simplified in comparison to the original, but I think it looks very "Tokidoki" (: I think this is the first time I tried writing on my nails, and it went pretty well, in my opinion!

NOTD;; Pop-Art Tribal Nails! ♥♥

Hey guys!

Today I come to you with this really detailed, really stand-outish nail look! I've seen tribal nails around more than a few times and I can't believe it took me this long to get around to doing them, but I finally did, and I'm in love! Check these puppies out...

REALLY bright and colourful, which brings that kind of pop-art feel, the combination of the two styles is super eye catching. If you have the time, this look is very fun to wear!

It's Swatchtastic- Let's Get Up Front and Personal with OPI! ♥♥

Hey guys!

The other day I went birthday shopping for one of my BFFs, and while picking her up a few bottles of nail polish, I went ahead and picked myself up some as well, with the aid of a buy 1 get 1 half off sale! Check out the spoils...

Left: OPI's Up Front and Personal

Right: Misa's Going Co-Co Nut

I'm really excited, Misa isn't a brand I've ever tried before, and Up Front & Personal was a polish I bought for a friend's birthday another time, and loved it so much I had to pick it up for my stash!

Why I Am Who I Am. ♥♥

Today got me thinking.

There are places in my town that I can walk into and not merit a second glance, but there are some whose most common demographics seem to double take when I walk through the door. Simply because I'm not something you see every day in my town (which is quite developed, if I do say so, not a leading city by any means, but not a hick town), I get a lot of questioning glances and shocked faces.

It's understandable really, a man in my style of clothing wearing brightly patterned nails is not something you see every day, even in some of the more culturally varied cities. It just surprises me that in this day and age, diversity is still something that shocks and confuses people.

So I thought I would put this post out there. The lessons I've learned throughout my life have really helped me come to terms with who I am, and how to embrace my own self, regardless of the reactions and the questions I've faced, both from other people and from my own inner voice.

If there's one thing I can pass on that I know has helped me, every time I'm questioning why life is kicking me down, or why I should even bother carrying on, something I tell myself when I'm at my lowest...

You can CHOOSE to be happy.

NOTD;; Heat Wave! ♥♥

Hey guys! Long time no post! Life has been rather hectic lately, so I fear I've neglected my blog slightly, save for the weekly NOTDs. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things, I miss writing!

So today I'm coming to you with a really fun nail look that I've been loving since I put it on. I used the same technique as I did in my Acid Wash Nail Tutorial, but this time I used fiery colours to make this really cool... or should I say HOT... finish. Check it out!

People I've seen have been loving this look as well, and it's really fun and easy to do! It's also very appropriate, seeing as it's been super hot where I'm from (comparatively speaking!)

NOTD;; Calming Waters ♥♥

Hey guys!

So this time around when I went to do my nails, I wasn't in the fanciest of moods. I wanted something bright and fun that would cheer me up... and I thought, GLITTER, of course! There's no mood that can't be lifted by overdosing on glitter. This is what I came up with!

^Natural lighting^

I love this nail look, it's so beautiful in real life, and it's not even that hard to do if you're patient.
