Dylan's Song of the Week;; Metronomy! ♥♥

Hey guys!

Recently I was introduced to a new band from the UK called Metronomy. Upon hearing their latest single The Look, I was hooked, but most of their other stuff was questionable at best. They had a few other toe tappers for sure, but this song has been in my head constantly for the last three or four days, and I really haven't minded. The video is pretty cool as well (:

I absolutely adore this song, the ambient sound is totally one of my favourite aspects of music.

Dylan, Where HAVE You Been?! ♥♥

Hey strangers!

So I haven't posted in ages, and I miss you guys! I've been super busy, all my time has been taken up by a combination of working, painting my house and tending to birthdays and such all month.

What's more, since I've been painting, I haven't done anything overly extravagant on my nails for the past while, which is kinda lame, but I made up for it by using my favourite colours. I'll still show you guys though! (:

Dylan's Song of the Week;; All New Gossip! ♥♥

Hey guys!

Gossip is a band I fell in love with about three years ago, I heard their song Heavy Cross on an MTV commercial and I immediately stopped everything and found out who they were. Since then they haven't had a new album, but this is their newest single coming from their upcoming album, A Joyful Noise. Check out the video!

Beth Ditto is an amazing singer, even though she's a tad bit crazy in real life! Their videos are so unique and their sound is like no other band I know, so I feel like they deserve some recognition. Hope you enjoy, and until next time, stay polished!

NOTD;; A Match Made in Heaven! ♥♥

Hey all!

So today I come to you with the finished design that was inspired by my latest purchase, Orly's Rococo A-Go-Go. You can check out the swatches in my previous post >>right here!<< if you'd like (:

This nail polish is so gorgeous on its own, I was having trouble thinking of a design to go over top that wouldn't take away from the overall effect. Finally one particular polish came into mind, and I decided that a gradient would be the most effective way to showcase these two polishes together. Check it out!

I Couldn't NOT Buy It! Orly's Rococo A-Go-Go! ♥♥

Hey guys!

So yesterday after work I popped into my local Winners, just to check out the scene. They had just got a new shipment in that day, as I soon realized, so the cool new stuff was still there, and the older stuff was on sale!

I found a pair of teal jeans that I was hell bent on buying, but they didn't fit perfectly and as I was going through cash I realized that I had a lot of other things that needed buying, so I had to leave them in the store ):

NOTHING, however, was going to stop me from buying this polish. I always check out the health and beauty section, because they have amazing deals on nail polish and sometimes you find awesome brands among the junk. I'd been eyeing this colour up for a while, and when I saw it was on sale for $5 I practically tripped over myself! Ladies and gentlemen, meet Rococo A-Go-Go...

This picture was taken in natural light (crappy natural light, it's a gross day out...). This nail polish has a tendancy to change colour in every change of lighting, so this post is a bit picture heavy because I wanted to get as many of those shades as possible for this post!

NOTD;; Easter Egg Splatter Nails! ♥♥

Hello everyone, and Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it! Otherwise, Happy Sunday!

This egg splatter inspired nail came to me MONTHS ago, when I bought Sally Hansen's Mellow Yellow, a light pastel colour, and I was trying to think of just what I could do with it. I thought this up, and I've been waiting ages to do it! Check out what I came up with...

Cute, right? Of course, as with practically all my other nails, as soon as I'm done I begin seeing things that I would change and ways to improve this work. A lot of the time I would take it off and redo, but this time round I was having a lazy day! I still think they're adorable. 

Dylan's Song of the Week: Old School Daft Punk! ♥♥

Hey guys!

Lately I've been looking for music to pump me up and get me going so I can have the drive to actually do stuff. This song has been one of those, along with the kind helping hand of Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga (:

Not only is the song awesome (as long as you don't mind repetitive lyrics), the video is hella cool too! Maybe one of these days I'll take inspiration and do a Daft Punk nail look... hmmmm...

But nonetheless, here's Around the World, one of my fave DP songs!

NOTD;; Studded Reverse Mani! ♥♥

Hey guys!

Today I'm coming at you with a dark, edgy, but funnily enough spring inspired manicure!

I was looking through some articles on trends for nails in Spring.Summer 2012, and I came across the oh-so edgy reverse manicure in a dark eggplant tone. As soon as I saw it I simply had to give it a go, but I had to edge it out a bit. Check out what I came up with! (:

I had originally planned on doing a two-tone purple gradient, but I ran out of time =P Life has been hectic over the last month! But I do really like the studded detail paired with the sharp triangular shape at the cuticle, it gives the nail a more pulled together look to me.
